Production process

The polymerization production methods of PVC paste resin mainly include micro-suspension polymerization, seed emulsion polymerization and mixing method.

Micro-suspension polymerization method: First, part of the vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) is made into a stable emulsion (particle size is about 1.0μm) by mechanical homogenization, and then polymerized. An oil-soluble initiator must be selected. The PVC paste resin produced by this method has excellent fluidity, less emulsifier, and improved thermal stability and water resistance of the resin.

Seed emulsion polymerization method: In emulsion polymerization, if there is a high polymer latex that has been generated, the material ratio and conditions are controlled. In principle, VCM only polymerizes on the generated latex particles, and no new particles are formed.

This generated high polymer latex is like a seed, so it is called "emulsion seed polymerization". This method can obtain PVC paste resin with appropriate particle size distribution to meet the needs of different applications.

Mixing method: It combines emulsion polymerization and micro-suspension polymerization. During the entire reaction process, seeds that have been emulsion polymerized and other emulsifiers, initiators, various additives and VCM are added to participate in the reaction.
